Arkells announce ‘Michigan Left’, new record out October 18th

(TORONTO – August 15, 2011) – Juno Award winning band, Arkells are pleased to announce the release date of their sophomore album, Michigan Left. The new album will be available as of October 18 through Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading Music Company.

Having spent the last few years writing new material while on the road, this past spring Arkells retreated to Bath, Ontario to record Michigan Left, living and recording in a converted house on the shores of Lake Ontario. The first single from Michigan Left, “Whistleblower”, is at radio now and presently in heavy rotation at both MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic. Formed in Hamilton, Ontario, Arkells (Max Kerman, Mike DeAngelis, Dan Griffin, Nick Dika, Tim Oxford) have become one of Canada’s most acclaimed rock outfits. In 2008, the band released their super-charged debut CD, Jackson Square and toured relentlessly coast-to-coast impressing fans and critics alike with their adrenalin-infused live show.

In 2010, Arkells were propelled further into the national spotlight, garnering The Juno Award for ‘New Group of The Year’; The Canadian Music Week Indie Award for ‘Favourite Live Artist/Group’; and Canadian Radio Music Award for ‘FACTOR Breakthrough Artist’.
